i know this is none related, but. i just saw in the news that fire distroyed houses near Melbourne. Melbourne is where OObles is from. I just want to discuss how bad it is or if anyone here get caught it it. I just wanted to show my/our concerns and im sorry to hear such bad news. :(

Yep, My house was 3KMS away from it (And CW, it's my aunties house i'm at)
6:30PM on Saturday Evening
A slight clearing on Saturday Evening, possibly the heat from the fire.
Pretty damn scary. |

yes there were numerous deaths in jeeralang but not as many as other areas.
Oobles is in Melbourne, so he should be OK. |

Yep. I'm ok. Thankfully not as close as Wally to the fires. I live at the edge of the Dandenong ranges. Close enough to get nervous on high risk fire days, but far enough away from the actual fires for it not to be a problem for me.
Some of the first hand accounts of the fires where really scary. The speed and ferocity of the fires have been incredible. I was up at Marysville for a night a few weeks before the fires; it really was a beautiful little town. They've estimated that 20% of the population of that town were killed in the fires. For such a small town it really is a tragedy.
I'm looking forward to some rain.. although hopefully not as much as they're getting up north in Australia. Bush fires in the south, floods in the north. Gotta love this climate change stuff. I really wonder if we've left the green change and focus on carbon emissions too late? Either way its going to be a rocky road for the next 50 years. For proof, read this http://tinyurl.com/c6t9pr
